I had a fab day at Harrogate yesterday but was totaly shattered when I got home, so I thought i'd post about it today, yet again the show was extremely busy and there were lots of familiar faces on the stalls I got a chance to see the very talented Bev Rochester demoing at the Hobby House stand doing some beautiful colouring her technique is so beautiful!
Had lots of fun at the craftwork cards stand (more about that later)......
I also met the wonderful Dyan from Art from the Heart she showed us the most wonderful bright grunge techniques I have ever seen , she was fabulous to watch and myself and Kirsten stayed for the last half hour of our stay watching her demo, she was so easy to talk to and gave us and demo'd lots of techniques for us, we'll definitely be boking ourselves onto one of her workshops...
Never mind all that I here you say where's the crafty stash!!
Well I had a clear shoppping list in mind when I went this time, Nesties, some new promarkers and some Lili of the valley stamps......which I managed to get yipee!!
And a few extra bits of course..................
Now about that fun at Craftwork cards I mentioned........ Craftwork Cards were holding the Card Oscars this year and all you had to do was enter a card in the class you though you were at either beginner, Intermediate or Advanced so I thought i'd take a card along for the Intermediate group, just before the announcements myself and Kirsten were at the craftwork cards stall buying some much needed last minute essentials (as you do) when over the tanoy sytem (yes tanoy system!!!) they announced the winners of each class I was absolutely gobsmacked when they read my name out as winner of the Intermediate catagory and also turned a beautiful shade of beetroot which can be verified by Kirsten (by the way at this point she is pointing at me and going thats you, thats you!) and all the girls on the Caftwork cards stall, who were all lovely and congratulated me and clapped. Well I though this was lovely and I was quite excited and embarrassed as I hate being the centre of things like that, we made our way round to the main desk as I was told their would be a prize to pick up, when I got round to the main entrance there was a red carpet out!!..,..gulp!!! and Di Grimshaw the editor of Simply Cards and Papercraft Magazine was there and she gave me my Oscar lol! we then had our photo taken and it will be published along with my card in the mag........!!!
Here is my Oscar and the card I entered...
And a quick pic of my prize a goody bag crammed full of fabulous Craftwork Card goodies, and 3 issues of Creative cardmaking Mag!!!
What an eventful day............ right time to play with crafty stash, house work is done Jack and Ian are at rugby..............ahhhhhhhhhhhh!
Have a fantastic Sunday!!!
Thanks for stopping by...
