An honerable Penny Black Challenge!!

Good Evening!!!

Wow have I had a busy week and not even any time for crafting!

well I had to sneak up to the 'ol' craft room or I would have started with withdrawl symptoms!!

I would normally post my Penny Black challenge with my TYI tag but as I am sure you are all aware the TYI challenge is no more and I bid it a fond farewell......sniff!!

so here is my Penny black challenge piece all on its lonesome....

The theme this week is a gift........ now I decided on a gift tag so I hope thats ok and its also in honour of TYI!

The papers of the sour cream container and the flower are from the 'one in a melon' collection from Pink Petticoat they are so fab and so easy to use great for spring and sumer stuff,

the image is coloured with a mix of water colour pencils and sakura stardust pens ( I love these for a bit of instant glitz) a few mini flowers and a scrap of ribbon from my stash,

a few jump rings to attatch it and hey presto!!!

This weeks challenge over at TYI is all about TYI it is their 1st birthday and the theme this week is 'happy birthday'

My tag has been cut out with my nesties and so has this gorgeous cake .....papers and image are pink petticoat ......the image I glittered and inked....... die cut letters are sizzix'first steps'........ribbon is from my stash and sentiment is computer generated.....

The image is the only Eastery one I have but I teamed it with my nesties, pro markers and fiskers threading water border punch and a few bits and bobs from my stash.....

TYI and Penny Black Saturday just for you Kath lol!!

Had a fab time in Harrogate and will post more about it tommorrow!!

But first its challenge time and this weeks TYI was 'cute and cuddly' well I was given a lovely present of an image folder and some fabby Craft work card goodies yesterday from the lovely Kath

I thought it would be nice to make the tag from the goodies and dedicate it to her......
so this is for you Kath ......

And The challenge over at Penny black was spring and I thought my DCWV papers 'blossoms and butterflies' would be perfect I got to use new stash on this card (more about that tomorrow) and a big bloggy hug to Kirsten who gave me the sissex alphabet it was such a lovely gesture, thanks hun I love it!!!!

TYI and Penny black Saturday Challenge

These are my two fav challenges at the moment....


This weeks challenge over at Penny Black Saturday was doodles...... you had to include doodles on your card....
I hand drew the doodlea around the edge of the card and round the image this card is one I made for a work colleague for her mum's birthday...the image is coloured with wc pencils and the papers are basic grey ( my total fav at moment!!)

And this is the tag for this weeks TYI challenge....this week it was a recipie 1 ribbon 2 buttons and 3 brads or eyelets....

The Image is one I won over at sketch saturday a few weeks ago so I thought i'd try a different style I quite like it although its very different from my usual style........

Well good evening and I hope you are comfy because this could turn into a long post............

Firstly this is my entry for this weeks TYI challenge the theme this week is Time for Tea I used this Penny black image as it was perfect for the theme i love making round tags and this image seemed to really suit a round shape..... i wanted to give the image a bit of dimension so i curved the image and fixed it onto the circular mat by only putting stacked foam pads down the center I inked the edges and added a little lilac bow.............

Then!......................... and don't ya just love it when this happens popped over to Penny black Saturday Challenge and there was a fab sketch with a circular image so yep you guessed it.......................................... ta da!!!
I adapted my tag to become part of this card and I really love it!!!

The papers are Forever friends flowers are prima and i used my fiskers border punch to give it a doiley tea time feel...........

As some of you know it was my Birthday last week and i would like to share the lovely cards I received from my fab bloggy buddys.......when I started blogging last October I never expected to meet such wonderful,friendly and generous people, I don't think I knew what to expect I really wanted to share my cards and scour other blogs for ideas and inspiration!!!!!!!

Well did I get a whole lot more than I bargained for I love my blogging community and so look forward to checking out all your hard work and fab inspiration...ok I'd better change the subject before i blub lol!!!

Ok are you sitting comfortably.....then i'll begin (lol sounds like jackanory!).....

PBSC .........This Card is the card I made for the challenge over at Penny Black saturday The theme was get well soon...... I have used this cute mouse image and all papers are from The Blossoms and Butterflies stack from DCWV the scalloped chip board was in blog candy I won from Dawn........sentiment is computer generated.....

TYI..........This is my Tag for TYI this week..... the challenge this week is swirls and circles you had to use at least one of each on your tag but the theme and colour scheme is up to you !! been in the blossom and butterflies DCWV stack again for this one the embossed butterfly is from a cuttle bug folder.......Butterfly is a clear peel off mounted onto tiny dots DCWV paper from same stack

WOJ.........And finally this is my entry for the DT call over at Whiff of Joy There is a fab sketch if you want to visit there is a link towards the bottom of my side bar....... the papers are basic grey and i coloured my image with pro markers isn't this image gorgeous!! she is one of the new spring set from WOJ and they are all fab!.......sentiment is lili of the valley..

Penny black saturday and TYI

Two challenges again today .........

Tag your'e it week 44 sketch

I used a sarah kay image which I coloured with my pro-markers and the card stock is papermania white core....which was put through a cuttlebug embossing folder...

sentiment is handwritten with sakura glaze pen...

Tag you're it 'sugar candy kisses'

This week the challenge was to make your own interpretation of the title 'sugar candy kisses'

I think Tilda looks quite happy sat up there i think she must have eaten the cherry though!!!!!!!!

The papers are basic grey and Tilda was coloured with pro-markers and sentiment was hand written with good old sakura stardust !ribbon and corugated card (what lovely stuff!) was from my stash ....................................

here's Tilda a little closer........ I shaded under her legs to give it a little depth...

TYI week 40 lets go stripey! and Penny black saturday

(This post has been ammended to add on penny black post)

This weeks challenge over at TYI is lets go stripey, use stripes on your tag..........

so heres my entry.

I used Basic Grey sultry'fashionable' paper which arrived yesterday and even better it was on sale lol !! at the The Glitter Pot (they have a fab sale on) and a Sarah Kay image which i coloured using my wc pencils the ribon is from Hobby Craft and the flowers are prima i didnt have a red brad so i coloured an orange one with a cherry peel off pen.

Sentiment is computer generated......

bit of faux stitching round the edges with a dark green sakura stardust....

Tried to give her Auburn hair but i'm not sure you can tell!

The chalenge for Penny Black SaturdayChallenge was to use pink and brown and it could be anything you like atc, altered item etc...I chose to make a book mark for my mum as she hasn't had the best time over christmas due to i'll health and unfortunately she also used to work at woolworths! .....

The papers are basic grey baby powder 'hiccups' and the ribon is Hobby craft, I coloured my image with pro-markers and highlighted with sakura stardust......

Tag your'e it week 39 NEW STASH!!!

This weeks challenge on TYI is to use any new stash!!!!

Well I couldn't get anything newer than what was waiting on the mat this morning!!

some hangler& stangler images.

(if anyone knows the name of this character/image please let me know..)

So I got to work with all my newest crafty stuff........

I coloured him using my water colour pencils and instead of colouring him in i wet my pencils and scribbled them on my acrylic block then used my water brush to apply them to my image ,

I found this a more controlled way of using them as i can't always get even pressure with the pencils which often means i have shading where there wasn't meant to be any...lol!

I drew round my double sided tape roll for the base (must get some nesties) and embossed just over half with a cuttlebug folder added DCWV paper to the remainder and put ribbon over the join (from hobbycraft).

I put some brown gold dusted paper through my big shot (another crimbo pressie) with a sizzix scribbles#7 die and added a flower pot sticker form Forever Friends...phew what a waffle!!!!!

TYI week 38 secret Santa

This weeks challenge is 'secret santa' and based round the Secret Santa we have at work where you pick names from a hat and buy a small present for that person whether it be something you know they'd like or a surprise,they also said you could theme it to a colour or hobby..........

So this week I have dedicated my Tag to Kirsten who originally got me hooked on cardmaking by putting me my first cardmaking 'kit' together about two and a half years ago!

She has just got back into stamping and we went mad at the weekend buying FF staps so we could share the images lol!!!

This is my favourite stamp at the moment I love all the WOJ stamps in this particular style but I dont actually have any so this is a bit sentimental as this is the only image of this particular stamp I have..sniff!

but hey back to the challenge!

I coloured the image with promarkers and shaded with sakura stardust by watercolouring them I added sakura stardust 'high lights to her hair and embellished with co-ordinating prima flowers. I used my fiskers punch for the border.....and a cuttle bg embossing folder for the base card then lightly sanded it to distress it slightly......

Quick post then off to bed!

This is my design for this weeks TYI challenge

this week it was a colour challenge Aqua and Brown

I used my elzybells image and text stamp and matted onto aqua card stock (papermania) and then onto corrugated card ( i love this lol!) for a bit of texture!, added some fibres and a charm from my stash I coloured my image using the following pro marker colours...

pastel blue

cocoa

blossom

The snowmans carrot nose is coloured with a sakura stardust pen..
