Birthday cards for sisters

These cards are for friends of mine who are sisters and both have birthdays in February

Papers were a free download (will try and find out where from)
Image was coloured with wc pencils and i dotted a few bits of sakura glaze pen on her head scarf and plants to help it co-ordinate with the backing paper better!
flowers, button and leaf were from my stash( i just stamped my sentiment straight onto it),
the strip of paper running through the card is Basic Grey.......

I used cream card stock and printed some brown gingham on one side and cuttlebugged the other flowers are prima and again coloured the image with wc pencils.
ribbon was from stash......

Tag your'e it PURPLE

Another quick post today this is my tag for this weeks TYI challenge which was to make a purple tag !

I watercoloured my Tilda image using only one watercolour pencil and added more intense colour with the shading details and used a promarker for her hair.

I embossed the pearlised card with my cuttlebug folder and coloured some white ribbon with a promarker(amethyst) as i did not have any purple ribbon!

sentiment is lili of the valley

Challenge at PINK PETTICOAT

As I was blog hopping yesterday i noticed that Liz over at pink petticoat had set a little challenge to alter papers with glitter, flock anything really and then to post your creation on your blog..........

(Sorry about dark photo I hate winter!!!!)
So i printed off a sheet of blooming doodles (rainbow collection) in blossom the pattern is 'swirly' I then drew over the pattern with my sakura glue pen and glittered with fushia sugared glitter it gave a fab result one i'll def use again so i printed off one of the images from the same collection and made this cute calendar...........

Sketch Saturday

This is the fab sketch over at sketch saturday its a fab sketch and it was really easy to use but i think it's the most complex one i've tried so far.....

Tried to give her Auburn hair but i'm not sure you can tell!

The chalenge for Penny Black SaturdayChallenge was to use pink and brown and it could be anything you like atc, altered item etc...I chose to make a book mark for my mum as she hasn't had the best time over christmas due to i'll health and unfortunately she also used to work at woolworths! .....

The papers are basic grey baby powder 'hiccups' and the ribon is Hobby craft, I coloured my image with pro-markers and highlighted with sakura stardust......

Dozy mare and Sketch and stash challenge #1

This is my card for this weeks sketch and stash challenge the idea is to use the sketch to make a card using all your new stash...

Well it sounded like the perfect opportunity to use my new pro-markers, hangler images and sentiment stamps from lilli of the valley.

The papers are either DCWV or Dovecraft its all a blur in that draw i'm afraid....(hangs head in shame)....embelishments are from stash and flowers on tag were hand drawn using a sakura stardust pen.
something I discovered tonight(you are going to think omg! how slack is this one) I have really been struggling since i started to colour images to find papers to match once I have finished doh!
then I had a thought "dozy mare" choose the papers first then colour to match i'm surprised Kath and Dawn way up north didnt see the glow as that lightbulb above my head started sparkling...lol...!!!!!!!!!
well it has been a long day!

3 posts in 1!

Ok 3 things to post about this evening!
Post 1.......
This is my DT card for the Forever Friends Challenge this weeks theme is your favourite colour lol think there might be a theme arising! check out the blog and you'll see what I mean.....

For this card i used all my pink scraps and paper pieced the image which turned out to be easier than I first imagined! here she is a little closer......

Post number 2

This is a big thankyou I won the week 38 'secret santa' Challenge over at Tag Your It and my prize arrived today it was a 'funky hand' yule be funky backing paper cd wow its fab and has set me up for christmas lol ......with it came a beautiful card from the lovely Kath who is a DT member for TYI I feel very honoured to recieve such a beautiful card from such a talented lady her blog is a real treasure trove and is a must see!!!!!!

So a big thankyou to all the DT members at TYI xxxx

Post number 3

I made this card for a birthday tommorow wanted to stay away from my usual light colours and try some darker shades so i used this Sarah Kay image and watercoloured it and layered it onto some red gingham paper, matted onto red card then backed it onto some dovecraft papers i used my fiskars border punch, the sentiment is one i made on my p.c and oh I 'tried' to ink the edge but it was alittle too heavy so will have to try a lighter touch next time....oh well you live and learn.........

Thanks for taking the time to read this slightly longer than usual post, it is most appreciated!!

Sunday 4 January 2009

way too early to be up!

Well!! I have now decided to have one of those very irritating coughs which means that when you wake at half five spluttering everywhere you can't stop to go back to sleep, so up it is!......

so thought i would have a scout round for a new challenge ....thought i would try these ones from 'One Stop Craft Challenge' and Penny Black Saturday Challenge

One stop craft challenge was a sketch to include buttons or brads......

I really enjoyed this sketch... I used a new (for me) hanglar image which i coloured with both pro-markers and water colour pencils! as i dont have enough pm colours yet...the background is hand stamped with an art impressions stamp and pink and green papermania ink pads.......which I also used to ink round my image, mat, and cardstock....buttons and paper border are from my stash and the sentiment is made using doodlebug stick it's and sugar glitter these are fab i got the stick it's from my local craft shop ages ago and forgot i had them, they were a bargain at £2.99 for two sheets of about 3 sets of alphabets! for anyone who hasn't seen them they are double sided sticky letters you stick on to card/acetate anything really! then remove the top layer and sprinkle with glitter or loose flock they are fab!

.........and this is my card for the Penny Black Saturday challenge....

The theme was embossing... so I watercoloured this cute hedgie image and matt and layered onto papermania white core card stock added a sentiment sticker and prima flower which I coloured the edges in with a pro-marker in 'meadow green' the whole of the front of the card was put through the big shot with the 'tiny bubbles' cuttlebug emb folder..... the faux stitching was done with a sakura glaze pen,,,,,,,,,

Thanks for looking

Tag your'e it week 39 NEW STASH!!!

This weeks challenge on TYI is to use any new stash!!!!
Well I couldn't get anything newer than what was waiting on the mat this morning!!
some hangler& stangler images.
(if anyone knows the name of this character/image please let me know..)
So I got to work with all my newest crafty stuff........

I coloured him using my water colour pencils and instead of colouring him in i wet my pencils and scribbled them on my acrylic block then used my water brush to apply them to my image ,
I found this a more controlled way of using them as i can't always get even pressure with the pencils which often means i have shading where there wasn't meant to be any...lol!
I drew round my double sided tape roll for the base (must get some nesties) and embossed just over half with a cuttlebug folder added DCWV paper to the remainder and put ribbon over the join (from hobbycraft).
I put some brown gold dusted paper through my big shot (another crimbo pressie) with a sizzix scribbles#7 die and added a flower pot sticker form Forever Friends...phew what a waffle!!!!!

Hope you like my tag
and thanks for looking!

I coloured this Sarah Kay image with pro markers (mmmm I just ordered 5 more too lol! shhhhhh! don't tell the oh hee hee!) simple matt and layer, fiskers border punch and cuttlebug embossing folder.......which i coloured with a brown papermania ink pad.

Need to get some more sentiment stamps as I am not liking my handwritten ones!!!!!!
Note to self....must remember to take big box of 'mansize' tissues to work tom lol!!!!!!!
