Allsorts and a Birthday :)

Good Morning 

Another quickie post from me i'm afraid as in an hour or so we'll be setting off out for the day for my Sons birthday which includes Cinema, shopping, Frankie and Benny's and Arcades so Me and Ian will be cream Krackered later lol!!

onto my card for this weeks Allsorts challenge which is 

Paper Piecing

This is the cards for Jacks birthday which actually is tomorrow  but thought Saturday was a better day for going out tommorow will be a family day with Just Dance and cake lol!

This a photo from a few years a go when Jack was about 5 I love this photo we were on Holiday in Ibiza and he had fallen and the lovely guy behind the bar of the hotel brought him a cup of warm milk made in the frother of the coffee machine  to help  cheer him up ( we were into our second week and he knew Jack loved warm milk but made it extra frothy for him hence the milk froth moustache and stuck together eyelashes from crying, bless they grow up so fast!!!!)

The image is a new PB stamp I got in Harrogate in September and until now had been uninked (slapped wrist!!!) the papers are MME from the robots collection and all the card is pearlescent and amazing quality from Craftwork Cards a few die cut and embossed stars and of course I paper pieced the kite the body of the cat is also layered but its difficult to see here, last embelishments are the good old faithful, Card candy from CC this is the white one which is pearlescent and I just coloured them to match with alcohol markers .

I'd like to enter this into the Penny Black Saturday Challenge they have a case it challenge

Allsorts - one layer

Good morning sorry for my absence from the Allsorts DT last week but I was so bogged down with work and home stuff I didnt get chance to make a card!!

This week however im back and at Allsorts this week we are asking for  one layer .....thats right one layer no matting no layering ahhhh I hear you cry but go on have a try you might be surprised with what you come up with :)

this is Henry from WOJ this is one of last years stamps but he was certainly not used enough so here he is with a bit of faux layering by running a red Promarker round the edge of the card and then adding green on top to look like a darker shade of red .

Coloured with promarkers (of course) and the sentiment is from Elzybells (sadly this store closed a while back now)

OK now its your turn cant wait to see your one layered cards

Week 127 at Allsorts

Very chilly in Leeds this morning guys, hope its not too chilly where you are!

Allsorts Week 125 - Lavender and Lace

Good Morning!

Time for this weeks Allsorts challenge, the theme this week is

LAVENDER and LACE

.

A little tough for me this week as purple tones are the one colour that I find most difficult to work with and it's rare to find purple stuff in my stash too lol don't get me wrong I love purple as a colour but it doesn't like me lol ..... Cute squares to the rescue again this week with this gorgeous pre-coloured image, right back to making more stock for a ladies night we are having at our local club to raise money for our junior rugby section.
Photos are still shocking i'm afraid really need to start taking them in the daylight but to be fair theres not much about at the moment!!

Allsorts Week 122 Clean and Simple

Good Morning ! isnt it getting fresh out there winter is coming and it will be Christmas before we know it!!!
Ok its time for another Allsorts challenge and this week the theme from the lovely Amanda is

I have paperpieced her dress with the same paper as I mounted the front panel on and coloured the rest of her with pro markers a few pearls for her shoe buckles and under the sentiment which is from Whiff of Joy and thats it my CAS inspired card!!

I used one of the fab cute squares from Lili of the valley so sweet! and perfect for this card I evenly cheekily made one of my die cuts into a button ;) a bit of layering and my finished card

Good morning and I hope the weather is warm and sunny where you are we have had some great weather this week in Leeds and long may it continue.....

Ok onto this weeks card for Allsorts, Fleur would like you to make a card thats

'anything but a square'

so this was a chance for me to play with my new nesties that I got from Harrogate GNPE

I am realy pleased with the shape and the nesties are now my favourite the papers are from a DCWV pack I think I may have to check....

The image is the beautiful pen pal from sugar nellie and this image is one of the reasons i love Aquamarkers the colours stay so vibrant something I have trouble with with normal water colours.. a quick LOTV sentiment stamp and some prima and e-line flowers to finish.

Blooming Blossoms

I'm not cross with flowers today Blooming Blossoms is the name of Brendas challenge over at Allsorts

and we have the fab Digistamp Boutique sponsoring us again as its the first challenge of the month...



I went for a CAS inspired card as the image is so delicate I didnt want to take anything away from it, I coloured the image with water colour pencils and with a slightly damp brush (so as not to smudge my printer ink) dragged he colour out slightly added afew pearls and some organza ribon to finish...

Something special for a lady

Happy Saturday

This week at Allsorts Debs wants us to see a project for a special lady and this week the DT have been  able to use some digital images from Sassy studios.

I decided to something diferent with my digis this week and was quite brave (in my eyes) and i decided to try to print onto shrink plastic the image was about 5 inches tall when I started.....

and now its about 1.5 inches tall lol I made it into a handbag charm for my mum for mothers day it was quite easy to do although I did nearly have a heart attack when she folded into a tight swiss roll under the heat gun with her being so large to start with I coloured her with promarkers carefully prior to shrinking and added a few beads I'm really pleased with it and think my mum will really like it

A gift of a challenge - Allsorts

This week at Allsorts Helene wants us to get creative and make a gift box.........

NOw I have to confess I am rubbish at making gift boxes and this is from a die cut sheet of many gift boxes I have in my stash on stand by lol!!!!

The toadstool is a WOJ image and the poppys were white until I coloured them with Khaki promarker a few stamens and some of that fab ribbon and voila.....ahem!

Luck of the Irish and a well deserved day out!

Good morning well i'm going to have to be quick this morning as no ones up yet and i've sneaked out of bed to pop on my post as I am required to stay in bed this morning for tea and toast because its my birthday yipee!!! and i'm also meeting up with lots of friends today at xscape at Castleford for some serious adult only drinking and chatting time.....well needed at the mo I can tell you!!

Now I didnt have any irish themed images so I went with this very pretty WOJ image which a coloured using Aqua markers which are my new fav colouring tool at the mo !a shamrock made from 4 hearts and some ribbon and papers from my stash.....

Another Saturday already and another week at Allsorts

The image has been paper pieced with papers from the BASIC GREY kioshi collection and the image and butterflies were coloured with LETRASET Aqua Markers lots of pearls and highlighted with sakura stardust pen in a deep purple to embelish the sentiment was a polkadoodles freebie in a mag!!! (dont ya just love freebies.................)

This week Brenda would like you to use a sentiment as the main focus of your project.

I saw this type of card as a sample on create and craft i'm not sure what its called I wouls imagine its similar to a tent card.....I used acetate as its not something i'd normally use but it gives a fab effect with this type of card the sentiment was a freebie from a blog site (i'll try and find the link :) the papers were from a pad I got free with amagazine and they are so pretty I think they are My Minds Eye,

A few cards to share....

Well I cant remember the last time I posted cards that wern't DT ones but I thought i'd share these commission cards with you They are for a work collegue of my mums and she is going to be the goddmother of three children over the next 2 months!

Here are her cards

This card is for the brother of one of the babys being christened as they are both being christened together but as he is 9 I thought a traditional card wouldnt be suitable...

Right i'm off to have a boiled egg for my supper and choose an outfit for tommorrow, off on a rare night out with the OH and some fab friends for a meal at our local Italian tommorrow and i'm treating myself to a hair cut too....lol!

Allsorts week 86!!! Teal and Brown.....

Good morning well the weeks are flying by it doesnt seem two minutes since Christmas and here we are half way through January!

I wanted to give it a distressed and aged feel as the papers were already pretty distressed looking so tried to complement it with some distressed embelishments,

 the strip across the bottom has been embossed sanded inked ripped scrunched and re inked to give it some texture then the ribbon was added to reflect this , the ribbon is only taped down oneside this allowed me to twist and place it where I wanted it to go the flowers were inked round the edges although sometimes when I look at it it just looks grubby but maybe thats the effect?

Allsorts Fancy folds

This week at Allsorts its my turn to choose the theme and I have chosen

Fancy Folds

I'd like to see different folds in your card base rather than the normal folded in half card...

I made my crad blank by cutting the front half off a 6x6 and the middle card is a 4.5x4.5 card which has been put in the opposite way round the fairy image is quite new havn't managed to ink her up till now and I went for water colour pencils for a change this time and I'm really pleased with how the colouring turned out I highlighted her with a purple sakura stardust pen some I watered down to brush over her wings to give them a gentle shimmer...

here is a blurry close up (which quite defeats the object)...lol

The papers are from a free My Minds Eye pack I got in a mag which are from the Quite contrary collection and they are soooooo lovely!!!

A few gems and flowers from my stash and a bit of sakura stardust doodling at the corners to finish off....
